Structural Engineer for Tunnel and Underground Works Design

Job Description

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for Structural Design on tunneling and underground works projects across a number of sites. The successful candidate should have the ability to determine ground and groundwater loading conditions on tunnels and underground structures and perform the structural design of tunnel linings, excavation support systems, and structural concrete elements such as slabs, beams, walls, stairs, elevators, etc. They will responsibly design and produce drawings, prepare structural estimates and discipline schedules, and perform engineering calculations. The Structural Engineer must be knowledgeable of ACI and CSA structural, concrete, and building codes, and will utilize a broad range of engineering skills on several projects.

Qualifications:

• Experience Required: 10 years +
• Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferable
• PE License in at least one US state
• Job Type: Contract
• Job Status: Full Time
• Ability to learn and effectively use engineering design software products.
• Have experience using FE analysis software products such as Abaqus, Plaxis, etc.
• Good understanding of engineering principles.
• Detail oriented.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Be highly motivated.
