Young Tunneller of the Year - Winner: Petr Salak, Dr. Sauer & Partners

On Thursday 4th December, the winners of the 2014 International Tunnelling & Underground Space Awards, were announced. Petr Salak, Dr. Sauer & Partners, is the winner of the Award Young Tunneller of the Year.

 The awards were organised by New Civil Engineer, supported by the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES), and celebrated the most innovative and successful projects, companies and individuals from across the global tunnelling industry. 

The awards were hosted by New Civil Engineer Editor, Mark Hansford and included a keynote speech from Chris Sexton, Technical Director, Crossrail, in front of an audience of over 400 key players in the global tunnelling industry. With the number and calibre of entries far exceeding the judges’ expectations, competition was fierce.
