National Tunnelling Day 2016

On Thursday, 1st December 2016, the UK’s second National Tunnelling Day takes place. At Dr. Sauer & Partners, we celebrate our involvement in the many successful UK tunnelling projects planned, currently underway, as well as those that have been completed and are in full operation.  

The aim of the day is to generate interest in the UK’s great number of world class tunnelling projects and to promote the industry (and its many professions). The day is an annual event on the first Thursday of December chosen due to its proximity to the Feast Day of St. Barbara, traditionally seen as the Patron Saint of Tunnellers worldwide.

As we did last year, we join in the celebrations and raise a toast to all our fellow Tunnel Engineers and those involved in the industry (and eat a slice of our ‘tunnel cake’!) Happy National Tunnelling Day! #TunnelDayUK
