On Friday 11th March, Dr. Sauer & Partners was proud sponsor of the BTS Young Members Conference which took place at Pinsent Masons’ offices in central London.
We were pleased to be able to support the event which is put on by, and run for young members of the British Tunnelling Society and which saw over 100 members attending this year. The presentations throughout the day covered a large number of industry topics, with Dr. Sauer & Partners’ Alexandra Onisie-Moldovan presenting her paper: “Trigger Values for SCL Tunnels and Existing Assets at Bank Station Capacity Upgrade”. Chara Kalogeraki prepared a poster entitled “A simplified yet efficient, transparent methodology for designing in liquefiable soils sidestepping sophisticated analyses" and Dr. Angelos Gakis and Petr Salak presented a poster: “Innovative design of openings in SCL without steel bar reinforcement”. The delegates at the event enjoyed a total of 12 presentations and 11 poster discussions.
Below are a few photos of the event which show what a great success it was.
