Bond Street Station Upgrade Project (BSSUP), London, UK

Bond Street Tube Station is a London Underground (LU) station situated in central London. The station serves as an interchange between the Central and Jubilee Lines.

Currently over 155,000 passengers use the station daily and with the completion of Crossrail in 2017, passenger numbers are expected to increase to 225,000.

Green Park Station step free access (SFA), London, UK

Green Park Tube station is a London Underground (LU) station situated in central London on the north side of Green Park. The station serves as an interchange between the Piccadilly, Victoria and Jubilee Lines.

The purpose of the project at Green Park is to provide the station with step free access between street level and all operational platforms via the enlarged ticket hall. The station, used by an estimated 25 million people annually, will thus become accessible for Tube passengers with disabilities and passengers with reduced mobility.

Tunnel collapse in Albania closes highway

Four months after its celebrated inauguration that brought together the Prime Ministers of two countries and hundreds of cheering public, partial collapse of a highway tunnel in Albania has delayed the opening of the project to traffic.

Devil's Slide Tunnel Update August 2009

Contractors at the Devil's Slide project are making progress. Recently, the two bridges connecting the North Portal with Highway 1 were completed and while probing and dewatering programs are implemented from the North Portal to mitigate groundwater inflows during the upcoming tunneling, two roadheaders constantly dig their way forward coming from the South.

Beacon Hill Station in operation

Exactly four years after excavation of the tunnels for the Beacon Hill Station began, Sound Transit celebrated the grand opening.

On July 18, 2009 officials from FTA, Sound Transit and the City of Seattle took part in the opening ceremony of Seattle's first line of the future light rail system. More than 90.000 riders joined them to experience the new service.
During the opening weekend they could enjoy free rides along the 14 mile Central Link Light Rail Train line between downtown Seattle and SeaTac International Airport with its 12 new stations.

on the Alta Velocidad Espanola (AVE) high speed rail line fromValladolid to Gijon.

Devils Slide Update March 2008

Devil's Slide Tunnel in Early Stages of Excavation
Two 120-ton roadheaders are grinding through favorable ground conditions in the early stages of construction on the Devil’s Slide Tunnel.

Excavation on the Hwy 1 project south of San Francisco began November 2007 from the south portals.

Sauer to present the 2008 William Barclay Parsons Technical Lecture, the lecture will be held at the City University of New York Graduate Center-Recital Hall at 365 Fifth Ave, New York, NY on Thursday April 17, 2008. The lecture topic will be " Tunneling and Beyond".

Devil’s Slide Tunnel Excavation Begins

Excavation is underway on what will be California’s longest highway tunnel. The Devil’s Slide Tunnel will bypass a section of Hwy 1 south of San Francisco plagued by landslides and grade subsistence that have closed the road for months at a time.

In September, Caltrans officials, local politicians and the public gathered at the construction site to celebrate this major milestone that has been more than 40 years in the making.
