On 22 December 2004 President Lagos opened the third and last segment of a line extension program undertaken by Metro Santiago over the last five years. The Line 2 South Extension will add 2.3km of track and two stations to the network of Santiago Metro. The terminal station, La Cisterna at the intersection of Gran Avenida José Miguel Carrera and Américo Vespucio Sur Beltway, two major highways in the south of Santiago, will be the future connection to the western spur the new Line 4, currently under construction. The line extension was designed and constructed in less than five years and the cost for the civil works were slightly below $30 million.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County is currently undertaking an expansion of the T to the north of the city which includes 3 underground stations and 1 aerial station connected by bored tunnels under the Allegheny River, cut-and-cover tunnels and a mined tunnel using NATM.

We have demonstrated that water leaks in existing tunnels can be controlled to minimize their impact to the function of the tunnel.
In recent months DSC has been awarded three "On-call" Contracts as a sub-consultant to major engineering firms in the New York area. While one contract is for standard Architectural/Engineering (A/E) "On-call" services for the MTA-NYCT, in which DSC will provide tunnel expertise for various federally funded projects, the other two are focused entirely on security issues.
An engineering study commisioned by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and prepared by Cordoba/Zurinaga JV, SYSTRA Consulting Inc., Aldaron Inc., Brierley Associates, EnviroTrans Solutions Inc., Engineering and Construction Scheduling Inc. and the Dr. G. Sauer Corp. for the San Francisco County Transportation Authority provides a tunneling solution to a problem that has so far seemed nearly unsolveable:
